Visible LEDs

To MARUBENI-OPTO™, the terms “light” and “visible radiation” (VIS) refer to the wavelength range between 400 nm and 800 nm, which can be perceived by the human eye. Here again compound semiconductors have realized a wide spectrum of emissions. The primary High- Brightness compound semiconductor technologies used to create a variety of colors include:

AlInGaN: Violet, Royal Blue, Blue, Cyan (Blue-Green), Green
AlInGaP: Yellow Green (YG), Yellow, Amber, Orange, Portland Orange, Red
AlGaAs: Red, Ruby Red, Deep Red, Near IR

These devices are measured and binned utilizing photometric test methods that measure the dominant wavelength (λD). The Near UV and the Near IR LED types we offer are included in the UV and IR portions of this website respectively. For example, our LEDs which have a Photometric Dominant Wavelength
(λD) nominal of 410nm λD (ranges from 400-420 nm λD), have a Radiometric Peak Emission Wavelength of 400 nm λp (ranges from 395-405 nm λp).
Epitaxial wafers, fabricated Known-Good Die, Packaged LEDs, COB/DOB compact micro-arrays (CMA™), modules are all offered as standard products by MARUBENI-OPTO™. Packaged LEDs include: Molded PTH Lamps (3, 5 mm), Metal TO- Header Lamps, SMDs (leadless ceramic, PLCCs, Power Packages).

Infrared LEDs

Infrared (IR) radiation covers the wavelength range above 800 nm and is subdivided in IR-A, IR-B and IR-C ranges. The work horse semiconductor epitaxy for this type of device is AlGaAs. This material is grown to produce devices from the Red Visible Light range through to 1550 nm λp.
Epitaxial wafers, fabricated Known-Good Die, Packaged LEDs, COB compact micro-arrays, modules are all offered as standard products. Packaged LEDs include: PTH Lamps
(3, 5 mm), SMDs (leadless ceramic, PLCCs, Power Packages). MARUBENI-OPTO™ also offers IR Photo- transistors and PIN Photo-diodes.
